Boost

Boost Creep

When actual boost exceeds target and the wastegate can't bleed enough exhaust to control it. Dangerous at high RPM.

Why it matters

Uncontrolled overboost can cause detonation and engine damage. It means the turbo is producing more boost than the wastegate can regulate.

What to look for

Actual boost exceeding target by 3+ PSI at high RPM is a warning. WGDC at 100% during boost creep confirms the wastegate is maxed.
